Hogge grabs Make A Wish event feature
With $1000 up for grabs to the winner of the IMCA modified main event winner, 16 cars took to the track to battle it out. Bobby Hogge visiting from Salinas CA started in 12th poistion and used only 15 of the 30 scheduled laps to get Robby Sawyer of Bakersfield and take the lead. Hogge captured the win followed by Sawyer, John Piker and Brad Pounds.
Kevin Collier of Porterville grabbed his 4th main event of the 2015 season in an exciting H&S Body Works Hobby Stock main event. 16 cars battled for 20 laps and it all came down to three-wide pass in turn three for Collier to take the lead and hold on to the victory. Robert Lawler finished up second followed by Chris Settlemire and Ralph Cooke.
18 Melo’s Gas & Gear American Stocks checked in for the night of dirt track action. Roger Welch used the bottom grove to his advantage to show the way around for the 20 lap main event win. Cale Hosfeldt crossed in second followed by Mark Irwin, Nicholas Johnson and Brandon Ratcliff rounding out the top 5.
Diamond IT Mod Lites hit the 1/3 mile clay oval with an impressive 15 cars for newly formed division Saturday night. Zack Forster again captured the win followed by Jeff Fry, John Piker, Jerry Flippo and Nick Spainhoward. This new up and coming division is showing some great excitment and should be the class to watch in 2015.
Both Jr. & Sr. GoLiveStream.net Mini dwarfs were in action on Make A Wish night 2015. 13 Jr. Cars did battle with Mason Ratcliff grabbing the lead from Cason Sylvester on lap 5 of 12 and went on to his third feature win of the year. Sylvester was second followed by Cade Lewis, Jett Lewis and Ethan Johnson.
Troy Morris III out-dueled Stephen Johnson during a green-white-checkered finish to win the Sr main event that was shortened due to time. The race saw four cautions that took most of the racing time which leed to the race being shortened. Chloie Jones took second followed by Jakob Carey and Sunnie Simkins.
Bakersfield Speedway returns back to action next week May 9th with a full field of popular dirt divisions. Dirt Late Models headline the action packed night of racing. Also on tap will be the IMCA SportMods, Mini Stocks and the IMCA Winged sprint cars. Gates open at 4:00pm with racing getting underway at 6:00pm.
