Championships decided at Speedway

BY MIKE GRIFFITH  mgriffith@bakersfield.com    The wins weren’t there this season for Brad Pounds but the consistency was and that lead to another IMCA Modified track championship at Bakersfield Speedway. Pounds had the championship locked up by taking the green flag on Saturday night then went on to finish fourth. It was his 12th top-five finish in 18 races, more than any other driver. Dutton claims fourth SportMod win

Gary Dutton won his fourth IMCA Sport Mods main event by at Bakersfield Speedway Saturday night. Starting sixth for the night, Dutton passed Jason Nation on lap 17 and stayed car lengths ahead for the last eight laps. “The track was nice, and Gary’s pretty good, so I don’t mind finishing second to him,” Nation said. Collier grabs another victory for 2015

Mike “The Race Doctor” Moshier

With a heavy heart we are saddened to report that today we lost a close member of our Bakersfield Speedway family. Longtime announcer Mike Moshier, known by all as “The Race Doctor” has lost his battle with cancer. Mike is a huge part of our Speedway family and his presence will be greatly missed by all of us.
