Bakersfield Speedway Announces 2021 Event Schedule
BAKERSFIELD, Ca. (January 16, 2021) – The Bakersfield Speedway is proud to announce their 2021 tentative event schedule. The historic Bakersfield Speedway is a one third mile high banked clay oval that has been home to auto racing in Bakersfield, CA since May of 1946.
As Bakersfield’s premier offering for professional dirt track auto racing waves the green flag for its 2021 season giving the Bakersfield Speedway the recognition of being one of the oldest continuous operating racing facilities on the West Coast. A total of 32 exciting events will form the 2021 schedule that will stretch from early March into November. Throughout the season, 17 different racing divisions will compete on the always eventful bullring speedway that will pride itself on promoting affordable, quality, family entertainment every Saturday night.
The 2021 racing season is tentative set to begin on Saturday, March 6th as the Budweiser Championship Series will open its season campaign at Bakersfield Speedway. This championship series is comprised of the nine house divisions that will compete in approximately fifteen events each at the historic California dirt track this season.
California is still experiencing strong restrictions with the COVID-19 virus which will put state and county regulations determining the actual opening of the 2021 race season.
“Our goal in 2021 is to get back to racing as scheduled in March here at the Bakersfield Speedway, and we are hopeful that will happen, but it is ultimately all up to the state and county at this point. We feel that 2021 will be a great year to get back to racing at this historic racing facility and we want to return it to the Saturday night family fun entertainment place in Bakersfield as soon as possible” stated owner Scott Schweitzer.
