Bakersfield Speedway Announces 2016 Event Schedule
BAKERSFIELD, Ca. (December 28, 2015) – The Bakersfield Speedway is proud to announce their 2016 event schedule. The historic Bakersfield Speedway is a one third mile high banked clay oval that has been home to auto racing in Bakersfield, CA since May of 1946.
As Kern County’s premier offering for professional dirt track auto racing waves the green flag for its 2016 season giving the Bakersfield Speedway the recognition of being one of the oldest continuous operating racing facilities on the West Coast. A total of 32 exciting events will form the 2016 schedule that will stretch from early March into November. Throughout the season, 20 different racing divisions will compete on the always eventful bullring speedway that will pride itself on promoting affordable, quality, family entertainment every Saturday night.
The 2016 racing season will begin on Saturday, March 5th as the Budweiser Championship Series will open its season campaign at Bakersfield Speedway. This championship series is comprised of the nine house divisions that will compete in approximately fifteen events each at the historic California dirt track this season.
Twelve different guest divisions are slated to appear throughout the season. Topping the list of special guests will be the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series that will make a stop Friday April 15th. The very popular sprint car series was last seen at the Bakersfield Speedway in February of 2005. The USAC Western States Midgets will make multiple appearances this season along with the USAC 360 Non Wing Sprints. CA Lightning Sprints, RaceSaver Winged Sprints, NMRA ¾ Midgets, CDCRA Dwarf Cars, Western Pro Stocks, Bakersfield Hard Tops and the popular Dirt Late Models will all again be competing multiple times around the 1/3 Mile High Banked Clay Oval in 2016. You will also see two brand new divisions stopping at the Bakersfield Speedway in 2016. The newly developed USAC Micro Series and the SO-Cal Enduro are both slated for two stops which should be a new interesting twist to the schedule.

We feel that in 2016 we need to make every Saturday night a special event with fun activities to go along with the great racing we have always provided. The result is a fun filled 2016 schedule of racing and family entertainment” stated owner Scott Schweitzer.
