Piker takes the Big Prize Saturday Night
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 25) – The IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Motor
City GMC were headlining the racing action on Saturday night at the Bakersfield
Speedway. Twenty-two cars were on hand for the $1,000 to win and $75 to start special
event with Bakersfield’s John Piker taking the night of competitive action. Pikers win didn’t come easy as Wayne Dotson of Bakersfield took the early lead. Doston looked to be in control for most of the race as Piker was making his way up through the field. Once Piker caught Dotson, the battle got very intense as the two Bakersfield native drivers put on a great show for the fans. Dotson made a last lap challenging move trying to overtake Piker for first place and slipped out of the racing groove which gave David Childress the opening to capture second followed by Jarad Schweitzer and Dylan Hagar all from Bakersfield with Dotson settling for fifth to round out your top five. The Motor City GMC SportMods will return back to action tonight at the Bakersfield
Speedway June 8th. For more information www.bakersfieldspeedway.com
